Perrine Gretener vit et travaille à Paris.
Suite à un cursus de 5 ans en école de communication visuelle (ECV), elle exerce le métier de graphiste, dans un premier temps en tant que salariée dans différentes agences spécialisées en édition institutionnelle, puis, depuis 2004, en free-lance.
En marge de son activité de graphiste, elle a toujours éprouvé le besoin de développer autrement sa créativité en réalisant des œuvres picturales personnelles et instinctives axées sur le végétal. C’est dans la richesse et la beauté de la nature qu’elle puise son inspiration. Ses recherches l’amènent vers la création de paysages et de compositions aux motifs végétaux variés et stylisés qui interprètent une flore idéalisée.
Perrine aime travailler la matière et la couleur. Ses compositions qui tendent vers l'abstraction, ne s'attachant qu'aux formes et au mouvement, sont réalisées à l’encre de chine sur une base colorée aux pastels à l’huile, puis cette base est grattée, presque malmenée, pour donner une force et un rythme à l'ensemble.
"Ce que je recherche avant tout, c'est capter et rendre l'impression d'un moment suspendu, d'un lieu paisible, d'une vision agréable, d'un sujet propre à nous émouvoir. Perrine Gretener lives and works in Paris.
After completing a five-year course in the ECV design school, Perrine worked as a graphic designer, initially in various agencies specialized in institutional publishing, and has worked in freelance since 2004.
In addition to her graphic design work, Perrine has always felt the need to develop her creativity by creating personal and instinctive pictorial works based on plants. It is from the richness and beauty of nature that she draws her inspiration; her work has led her to create landscapes and compositions with varied and stylized plant motifs that interpret idealized flora.
Perrine likes working with matter and color. Her compositions, which tend toward the abstract, focusing only on forms and movement, are produced in India ink on a base of oil pastels, which is scraped, almost manhandled, to give strength and rhythm to the whole.
"What I look for above all is to capture and make an impression of suspended moments, of a peaceful place, a pleasant vision, of a subject that moves us. My pictorial world is crystallized around the imprint of the matter, the energy of the instinctive and spontaneous gesture, the visual force of the black India ink." Perrine Gretener
